Why Energy-Saving Light Bulbs?

Perhaps you've heard of or seen the trend in using energy-saving light bulbs throughout your home or office. It's a simple way to save a great deal of energy. Look for compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) that are ENERGY STAR qualified. These days, nearly every hardware store will have them, but you can also find them fairly easily in local drugstores as well.

ENERGY STAR states that qualified CFLs last up to ten times longer than standard electric bulbs, and use less than 75 percent of the electricity. The trend is catching on, right to the top; even President Clinton has outfitted his New York office with them!
